This privacy policy sets out how Friends of Centurion Way (FoCW) uses and protects any information that you give FoCW when you use this website.

FoCW is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. When you provide certain information to us by which you can be identified when registering or using our website, you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy policy.
FoCW may change this policy from time to time, updating its website as required. You should check this from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes. This policy is effective from 01 April 2018 and will be reviewed on a regular basis.

What FoCW do with the information we gather:

We hold this information to verify your request to join FoCW and to use it in one of the following ways:-

  • To send periodic emails and local bulletin updates (eg newsletters mostly and occasional adhoc newsletters in relation to issues in the area).
  • To inform you of upcoming events, including meetings, gatherings or other matters of local interest (via the newsletter)
  • To inform you of any cancellations to events (via the newsletter)
    To respond to inquiries in relation to content or issues in our newsletters
  • To count you in the total number of supporters that we may refer to in discussions with third parties in campaigning to secure the future of the path. Our next goal is 1000 supporters.

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

Our website may contain links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave our site, you should note that we do not have any control over that other website. Therefore, we cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement. You should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the website in question. Nevertheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these sites.

What happens when you no longer wish to receive newsletters or bulletins?
(This feature is yet to be included on the website) {On the FOCW homepage, eg below the sign up box , you will see a link below Subscribe called Unsubscribe from list. This will allow you to enter your email address and unsubscribe.}

You may also email unsubscribe@centurionway.org.uk to confirm you wish to unsubscribe.
You will no longer receive emails from FoCW and we will delete personal information held by us.

Controlling your personal information

We do not pass on information to third parties. We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we are required by law to do so, or seek your express consent.
You may request details of personal information which we hold about you under the United Kingdom Data Protection Act 1998.

If you have any concerns or complaints in relation to how FoCW collects and/or processes your personal data, you should contact the Membership Volunteer in the first instance via friends@centurionway.org.uk. FoCW is a not-for-profit campaign group run by volunteers and works to preserve and enhance the current Centurion Way path in Chichester, West Sussex.
